how I work

I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship concerns, anxiety, life transitions, pregnancy and postpartum adjustment, and the pressures that can come with demanding academic and professional environments.

My approach begins with taking time to get to know you. Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, what you are hoping for, and what feels most important in your life right now. We will explore the experiences, relationships, and circumstances that have shaped you, as well as the challenges that feel most present today.

My work is relational and insight-oriented. One of the things I enjoy most about this work is helping people connect the dots between their emotions, relationships, past experiences, and ways of coping. Often, difficulties that feel confusing or frustrating begin to make more sense when viewed in a broader context. Together, we will look at patterns that may be contributing to current challenges while also developing practical ways to navigate stress, difficult conversations, and periods of change.

Clients often describe me as calm, thoughtful, and grounded. While I take my work seriously, I do not believe therapy has to feel overly formal. Some sessions involve difficult conversations; others leave room for humor, perspective, and the occasional reminder that being human is complicated for all of us.
